As we stated in our introductory page, all of our chant at St. James come from the traditional Byzantine chant which is comprised of its 8 tones or modes. The Byzantine chant forms the foundation for most of our liturgical prayer.
In its fullest form, Byzantine chant is a very rich and complex musical genre. There exists a plethora of information about this awesome musical field, both on the web and in print. Below are a few links which can be used to begin an exploration.
